Anitta

Singer and songwriter

Born 1993

Anitta is the stage name of Rio-born singer, songwriter, performer and creative director Larissa de Macedo Machado. After church-choir singing and self-recorded internet videos led to work with the funk label Furacão 2000, she broke nationally with Show das Poderosas in 2013, built a multilingual catalogue spanning Brazilian funk, pop and reggaeton, and became the first Brazilian act and first solo Latin artist to top Spotify's global daily chart with Envolver. Her recent work has deliberately returned to Brazilian sounds: Funk Generation earned a 2025 Grammy nomination, while the two-part Equilibrivm project brought funk, samba, bossa nova and Afro-Brazilian spiritual traditions into her 2026 releases.
