Beyoncé Knowles-Carter is a Houston-born singer, songwriter, producer, director, performer and actor whose career began in the group Girls’ Tyme and expanded worldwide with Destiny’s Child. After the group’s breakthrough albums The Writing’s on the Wall and Survivor, her 2003 solo debut Dangerously in Love established a catalog that later moved through the live-band urgency of B’Day, the pop scale of I Am… Sasha Fierce, the R&B focus of 4, the surprise visual album Beyoncé, the Peabody-winning Lemonade, the HBCU-centered concert film Homecoming, Renaissance and Cowboy Carter. She has also played major screen roles in Dreamgirls and Cadillac Records and voiced Nala for Disney. At 27, she founded Parkwood as a creative agency, label, production and management company; while directing I Am…World Tour, she taught herself Final Cut Pro and began a filmmaking line that continued through Lemonade, Homecoming, Black Is King and Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé. In 2025, Cowboy Carter brought her first Grammy for Album of the Year and raised her career total to 35 wins, the most in Grammy history. Her latest release is the remastered B’Day 20th Anniversary Edition, issued in September 2026 with restored visuals, archival material and new tracks.
