Carlos Alcaraz

Professional tennis player

Born 2003

Carlos Alcaraz is a Spanish professional tennis player whose explosive all-court game carried him from the family tennis club in El Palmar to the top of the ATP rankings. He began playing at four, turned professional in 2018 and developed under former world No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero before continuing with Samuel López. Alcaraz won his first major and became the youngest ATP world No. 1 at the 2022 US Open, then added Wimbledon, Roland Garros and a second US Open. His 2026 Australian Open victory made him the youngest man to complete the career Grand Slam. After a right-wrist injury kept him out for more than four months in 2026, he returned to reach the US Open quarterfinals and won his opening-night Laver Cup doubles match in London alongside Jakub Mensik.
