Coco Gauff

Tennis player

Born 2004

Cori Dionne Gauff is an American tennis player known publicly as Coco Gauff. Born in Delray Beach, Florida, she developed through junior tennis before becoming one of the leading players on the professional tour. Her early childhood was spent in Atlanta, where both parents had college sports backgrounds: Corey played basketball at Georgia State and Candi ran track at Florida State. Tennis became her choice at six. The family returned to Florida while she was in primary school, living with her maternal grandparents as Corey took on coaching and Candi homeschooling. In her 2019 interview, her father emphasized preparation and sustained work behind the sudden public attention. Roland-Garros girls’ singles in 2018 was an early landmark. The following year she qualified for Wimbledon, defeated Venus Williams and reached the fourth round. Her first WTA singles title came in Linz, while a partnership with Caty McNally also produced doubles success. The early breakthrough did not eliminate the work of learning to compete over a full season. The 2022 Roland-Garros singles final preceded success on clay and hard courts. Cincinnati and the US Open in 2023 marked another stage, with her first major singles championship arriving in New York. Doubles continued, including Roland-Garros with Katerina Siniakova in 2024. That season also brought titles in Auckland and Beijing and the WTA Finals championship. Her Paris Olympic appearance belongs to the participation record, rather than a medal claim. In 2025 she helped the United States win the United Cup, received its MVP honour and won her first adult Roland-Garros singles title. A later Wuhan championship followed continued attention to her serve and coaching approach, discussed in her own WTA interview. In 2026 she added a second Cincinnati crown. Her September Beijing interview describes the ongoing attempt to improve and build toward the next season, without treating that ambition as a future result. Her screen work includes a 2023 guest appearance as herself on All American: Homecoming and a 2024 appearance in Break Point. In 2026, Tennis Channel announced The Zina Effect and Serve: Fashion & Tennis, with Gauff serving as executive producer through iROC Media Group. Off court, her 2026 Roland-Garros interview presents a player who values learning and authenticity and remembers the Williams sisters as inspirations. Public appearances and interviews also document reading on tour, music choices and daily routines. Those details retain their original dates and commercial context when a brand partnership is involved. Her acknowledged relationship remains private here: she mentioned a boyfriend after the 2025 Roland-Garros final, but an identity and current status are not established.
