Diljit Dosanjh

Singer, actor and producer

Born 1984

Diljit Dosanjh is a Punjabi singer, actor and producer whose career grew from gurdwara performances and Punjabi albums into major Punjabi and Hindi films, global chart entries and stadium tours. Born Diljit Singh in Dosanjh Kalan, he moved to Ludhiana at 11, played tabla at a local gurdwara and made his recording debut with Ishq Da Uda Ada in 2003. His screen career began with The Lion of Punjab and expanded through the Jatt & Juliet franchise, Punjab 1984, Udta Punjab, Soorma, Good Newwz and the title role in Amar Singh Chamkila. Albums including G.O.A.T., MoonChild Era, Ghost and Aura carried Punjabi-language pop to broader charts, while collaborations with Sia, Ed Sheeran and international producers widened its live audience. Dosanjh became the first Punjabi-language artist to perform at Coachella in 2023, then took the 2024 Dil-Luminati tour into arenas and stadiums. In 2026 he released the EPs The Call of Panjab and I'm an Artist Bro, appeared in Border 2 and continued the Aura World Tour, including a September Wembley Stadium performance. He has described Punjabi folk singing as the base of his music even as his work crosses languages, film industries and pop markets.
