Born 1995
Dua Lipa is a British-Albanian-Kosovan singer, songwriter, actor and media founder who grew from a London teenager posting covers online into one of the defining global pop artists of her generation. Born in London to Kosovo-Albanian parents, she spent part of her childhood in Pristina before returning to London at 15 to pursue music, balancing theatre school, hospitality work, modelling and songwriting. Her 2017 self-titled debut established her internationally through Be the One, New Rules and IDGAF; the disco-informed Future Nostalgia followed in 2020 and won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album. She expanded the project through Studio 2054 and a world tour, then crossed into film and soundtrack work with Barbie and Argylle. Her third studio album, Radical Optimism, arrived in 2024 alongside a Glastonbury headline set, an orchestral Royal Albert Hall special and a global stadium tour. Beyond recording, Lipa founded the culture platform Service95, its Book Club and the At Your Service interview podcast, co-founded the Sunny Hill Foundation with her father, and built the independent media and management company Radical22. Kosovo granted her citizenship in 2025. In 2026 she appeared on Danny L Harle's Two Hearts, released Live from Mexico, marked three years of the Service95 Book Club, married actor Callum Turner and prepared to curate the Southbank Centre's London Literature Festival with Service95.
