Born 1990
Kristen Stewart is an American actor and filmmaker raised in Los Angeles by a script supervisor and a stage manager. In her interview with Dennis Hopper, she recalled growing up on sets, attending public school through junior high and completing high school while working. Panic Room established her early screen career; playing Bella Swan across the Twilight films brought international recognition. Her work includes Adventureland, The Runaways, On the Road, Camp X-Ray, Still Alice and Clouds of Sils Maria. The latter brought a César and critics’ honors. She continued with Personal Shopper, Certain Women, Underwater and Crimes of the Future; Spencer earned an Oscar nomination. Her directing spans Come Swim, Boygenius: The Film and the memoir adaptation The Chronology of Water, which she also wrote and produced. She narrated and helped produce Living for the Dead, and co-founded Nevermind Pictures with Dylan Meyer and Maggie McLean. Her later acting includes Love Lies Bleeding, Love Me, The Wrong Girls and the Cannes-screened Full Phil; her producing extends to Barbara Forever. She has also discussed plans for the Highland theatre as a community cinema space.
