Millie Bobby Brown

Actor and producer

Born 2004

Millie Bobby Brown was born in Marbella to British parents. Childhood performing classes in Britain gave way to a family move to Orlando, then Hollywood for her early television work. Television guest appearances preceded another return to Britain. Her parents encouraged a Stranger Things audition before she abandoned acting; she landed Eleven in 2015. In her 2016 Vogue interview, Brown described developing Eleven through instinct, body language and her own suggestions. Her father helped her practise lines, and family members managed her early social accounts. Television watched while living in Orlando helped her develop the American accent required for screen work. Her earliest screen roles include Young Alice in Once Upon a Time in Wonderland and Madison O’Donnell in Intruders. Stranger Things brought her portrayal of Eleven to an international audience, while the Godzilla films introduced Madison Russell to her feature-film career. Fantasy remained a central thread. Brown has described its imagined worlds as a refuge from an intimidating reality, while choosing stories about women finding power in different fields. Enola Holmes turns Sherlock’s younger sister into a detective in her own right. Damsel begins with a royal marriage bargain and follows Elodie’s struggle to survive a dragon’s cave. Brown described the film’s stunts, rather than its emotional scenes, as the greatest physical challenge of the shoot. Damsel also developed her work behind the camera: she was an executive producer as well as its lead actor. In her release interview, she explained that she deliberately avoided extensive preparation so the character’s physical mistakes would remain believable. Her approach to emotional scenes relied on instinct rather than a fixed acting method. Away from acting, her work includes Florence by Mills, the PCMA production company and the Joey’s Friends animal rescue. The Georgia home she established while making Stranger Things became the setting for her farm life and rescue work. In her November 2025 interview she was still completing a veterinary technician degree. Her novel Nineteen Steps adds fiction writing to that range. Kathleen McGurl acknowledges their collaboration on the book; Brown’s authorship is presented with that collaboration clear. UNICEF appointed her a Goodwill Ambassador in 2018, making her its youngest-ever ambassador. Her advocacy addresses children’s rights and bullying. The organisation’s record also describes a 2025 Power4Girls keynote and a school visit in São Paulo, connecting her public platform to children’s education and opportunity. The third Enola Holmes film arrived on Netflix in July 2026. Brown returned in the title role and as a producer through PCMA, with Philip Barantini directing Jack Thorne’s screenplay. Her career now spans episodic television, fantasy and science-fiction features, music-video appearances, producing, entrepreneurship and animal-rescue work. Netflix announced another acting and producing collaboration in June 2026: an untitled Jack Thorne spy series with David Harbour. Brown is attached to play Rebecca and executive produce. The announcement specifies a series order, without a release date.
