Rashmika Mandanna is an Indian actor whose career spans Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi cinema. Raised in Kodagu, she moved to Mysore for further schooling and Bengaluru for college, studying English literature, psychology and journalism. A college modelling competition led toward screen work. She debuted in Kirik Party, followed by Anjani Putra and Chamak, then entered Telugu films with Chalo and Geetha Govindam. Dear Comrade gave her the role of cricketer Lilly, while the Pushpa films established Srivalli as a recurring screen character. Her Tamil work includes Sulthan and Varisu; Goodbye introduced her to Hindi features before Mission Majnu and Animal. Her later roles range from Yesubai in Chhaava to Bhooma in The Girlfriend, alongside Sikandar, Kuberaa, Thamma and Cocktail 2. Filmfare recognised Geetha Govindam with a critics’ acting award, and SIIMA honoured her debut and Pushpa 2 performance. She also appears in music videos and television guest episodes. Her September 2026 Vogue interview explains the language work behind that career: Kodava is her mother tongue, while English is the language she uses to think through feelings. She credits a multilingual team with helping her learn dialogue and communicate on set. Her Dear Diary fragrance project grew from personal journaling. She married screen collaborator Vijay Deverakonda in February 2026. Current projects include the period films Ranabaali and Mysaa, Atlee’s Raaka and the newly announced M. S. Subbulakshmi biopic, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri.
