Aamir Khan is an Indian actor, producer, director and television host whose selective, research-led approach has repeatedly joined mainstream Hindi cinema to unusually ambitious subjects. Raakh, Dil, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Andaz Apna Apna, Rangeela, Raja Hindustani, Ghulam, Sarfarosh and 1947: Earth then established a career willing to move between romance, comedy and social drama; he also co-wrote Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke. He founded Aamir Khan Productions to make Lagaan, serving as star and producer of the cricket epic that became India's Academy Award nominee. Dil Chahta Hai, Rang De Basanti, Fanaa, Ghajini, 3 Idiots, Talaash, Dhoom 3, PK and Dangal extended his reach, while Taare Zameen Par marked his feature-directing debut.
